so... grad school is good and hard at the same time. i found out that i actually have to learn AND remember what i've learned (otherwise i wouldn't be a good PT would i?) had my first test today and my prof told us before handing out the test that our multiple choice questions were multiple answer questions aka the answer could be a or a and b or a b and c, etc- there is no way to know how many to pick! we'll see how i did when we get the scores back. on a more happy note- i know how to palpate the major landmarks in the trunk, pelvis, leg, and foot now. that's accomplishment huh! (although it is a little awkward to palpate classmates' "gluteal folds" and pubic symphisis. anyways... props to my professor who brought the entire class beer and chips to make up for missing class one day. that's not much like JBU! well... my brain is mush and i think i will aimlessly search the internet before going to bed. tomorrow is a day off and I am going to get my CO liscense plate!

So... Al and I finally moved into our apartment about a week ago. It is coming together nicely. Hopefully the last boxes will be put away before PT classes start next week. I will post pictures of the new place as soon as I deem it worthy of being posted on xanga. The thing most worthy is the view of the sunset over the mountains from our office and bedroom- it's amazing!
Things are going well. Just ready to get started. I think the long summer of having nothing to do has prepared me nicely for grad school because I was really burnt out when I graduated. It will be a new adventure to make new friends, start a new school, and be a wife at the same time! Bring it on! (you can tell I've been bored this summer.)
On an exciting note- Al and I finally got our "bought out of a trailer park from a guy who didn't have a bank account stackable washer and dryer" to work! We almost threw it out the window when we got everything hooked up and it didn't turn on. BUT, Al thought to look at the breaker and sure enough, it was flipped. Therefore...... very functional w/d!

Less than two days til I get to see Al again!

I'm in KC helping Bethany get ready for her wedding. We went to the plaza together to get Paul's ring engraved and the guy asked us where we were going on OUR honeymoon! AHHHH! He thought we were lesbians. It was about the funniest thing that has ever happened to me. It was really awkward to try and explain to him that I already went on my honeymoon...with a boy. I'll tell you the story in full detail if you want to hear it. (don't tell Paul though because he doesn't know about the ring engraving.) Bethany and I had fun though. We ate dinner out on the plaza and looked in girly home decorating shops. We also got Italian icecream... yum! It was a fun break from wedding stuff. Anyways... I head back to CO tomorrow- 9 hour drive wish me luck or call me along the way.

So tonight is my last night in Russvegas for a long time. Maybe Christmas, maybe not til next summer. Even if I wouldn't chose to live in Russellville for the rest of my life, I still like the place and especially my family. I'm mostly sad I'll be away from them. Thank the Lord for cell phones, email, etc. (and planes).

Life is basically good. I miss Al, but I'll see him soon. I have to leave my family, but I've gotten to spend a really sweet week and a half with them. Life is pretty up in the air right now, but at least its up in the air in CO- one of the most beautiful states! Seems there's always a positive angle if you just look a little.

I'm reading the Celebration of Discipline. I just read the chapter about simplicity. It really challenged me. It's completely opposite of the direction my life/society in general is headed. "Tis a gift to be simple, tis a gift to be free..." I do want to be totally free... Do I start by simplifying my life?
